South Green Junior

Swimming Standards end of 2019-2020 academic year

There are three swimming outcomes, which children should achieve by the time they leave South Green Junior School.  These are to:

  • swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
  • use a range of strokes effectively [for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke]
  • perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations

The tables below show the percentage of students, for each year group, who have swum 25m using a variety of strokes and performed a self-water rescue for the 2019-2020 school year. Some percentages have stars beside them to show that they were impacted by the  closure of schools and swimming facilities due to covid 19. The details of this impact are included below the table.
