Swimming Standards end of 2024-2025 academic year
There are three swimming outcomes, which children should achieve by the time they leave South Green Junior School. These are to:
- swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
- use a range of strokes effectively [for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke]
- perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations
The tables below show the percentage of students, for each year group, who have swum 25m using a variety of strokes and performed a self-water rescue for the 2024-2025 school year.
* Year 3 did not swim as normal in the Summer term due to pool maintainance. They will swim first in the Autumn term of year 4.
