Our Awards

We are very proud of our award for embracing the Thrive Approach at South Green Juniors. This recognises the work we have carried out in supporting children to develop good mental health, strong self-esteem and strategies to regulate feelings.

Our Gold level Investors in People award recognises our commitment to developing staff and including them in school improvement. We were first awarded the Gold award in 2020 and were re-awarded Gold status in April 2023.

We have been an Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) Flagship School since March 2021. This award recognises those unique schools who have held the IQM Centre of Excellence status for at least 3 years; and played a strong leadership role in developing inclusion best practice across a network of schools.

The Basic Skills Quality Mark is awarded to schools who meet key criteria around the area of 'basic skills' – reading, writing, spelling and maths. The Quality Mark promotes, supports and celebrates progress and improvements made by a school in English and mathematics.

Healthy School Status requires schools to meet criteria in four core health themes: PSHE education including Relationships (RE), Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), Health Education (HE) and Drug Education (including alcohol, tobacco and volatile substance abuse.) Healthy Schools offer pupils many opportunities – in the classroom, and in every aspect of their school experience – to foster their physical, mental, social and intellectual development.
